In my oil paintings I love to push the medium to the opposite extremes of hyper realism and pure color abstraction. I first painted the vibrant red and magenta background. It sat in my studio near my easel for months while I pondered what to pair with it. On a cloudy hike in a canyon nearby, I found these elegant, three-petaled white flowers that I knew would match wonderfully.
